Maria attended Variety’s 1st Annual Power of Women Luncheon in Beverley Hills a couple of days ago, looking chic in a white trouser suit. I’ve added over 100 photos from the event to the Gallery.

Stars honoured for charity work
September 26th, 2009 Filed Under Charity, New Event No Comments / Comment?

Christina Applegate, Christina Aguilera, Maria Bello and Anne Hathaway were among the stars honoured for their charity work at a glitzy event in LA.

The Beverly Wilshire Hotel played host to Variety’s first annual Power Of Women Luncheon, where the philanthropic impact of women in entertainment was highlighted.

Actress Jane Lynch hosted the lunch and said the time and effort each star had put into fundraising was incredibly impressive.

“These are very busy, successful women who have found time and a place in their heart to give back to others and make a huge impact,” she said.

She said Samantha Who? actress Christina Applegate – a breast cancer survivor – had made an impressive difference with her charity work through her foundation, Right Action For Women.

“She just went through a battle with cancer and I know she nursed her mother through one earlier. She has her own foundation now and she’s given back to people, they’ve benefited from her experience,” she said.

Maria Bello was honoured for her work with the Save Darfur Coalition.

Speaking before the lunch, she told reporters: “The genocide in Darfur has been going on for the last seven years. The violence against women there, rape is a weapon of war and an instrument of genocide. It’s outrageous, something needs to be addressed – not only in Darfur but all over the world.”

“What makes a woman powerful is using the gifts that you’ve been given to give back to the world,” she added.

HBO’s Post Emmy Awards Party
September 23rd, 2009 Filed Under Gallery Updates, New Event No Comments / Comment?

On Sunday night Maria attended HBO’s Post Emmy Awards Party in Los Angeles, and she looked absolutely gorgeous! She always looks amazing in red. This might be one of my new all-time favourite looks of hers ;) See the photos for yourself in the Gallery!

It’s interesting that she is attending a HBO party, as she was rumoured/announced to be starring in her own TV drama series with the network. There have been no further details since the initial announcement (check the News Archives), leaving us wondering about the status of the project … is her appearance at a HBO party a sign?! Let’s hope we hear some new news soon…

Lack of updates again
September 17th, 2009 Filed Under Site News No Comments / Comment?

Those of you that check our Twitter regularly will have read that I’ve been having some computer problems recently and am unable to use my computer – this is why there haven’t been any updates for a few weeks! I am so sorry about this, but there’s really nothing I can do about it. I just have my fingers crossed that it will be fixed soon and I can resume updating. Once I get my computer back I will be working on the content, and when/if my further computer problems get fixed I can resume properly working on our Gallery.

It feels like I haven’t updated this site properly in a long time and I’m sorry about that. Once I get everything fixed I’m planning to make a dedicated attempt to work on the gallery and site to get it as complete as possible. Please be patient and stick with me here :)

And remember to follow Maria-Bello.org on Twitter as that is the best way to get the latest news and updates.
