Maria attended the Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles last night, accompanied by her 9 year old son Jack! Maria looked cool and casual in a pale yellow top and skinny jeans. It’s nice seeing her at a kids event like this with her son! Jack is the blonde boy with her, and I presume the other kid is a friend of Jack’s. Sounds like they were all excited to be there:
From aoltv.co.uk:
For other stars sweating out the arrivals, the KCAs are simply a family outing. “This is my son,” Maria Bello said, indicating the small blond boy shyly holding her hand. “He’s been wanting to go to the Nickelodeon awards for months. My friend Kevin James, who I did a movie with this summer [Adam Sandler's 'Grown Ups'], is the host, so I’m so excited to be here.”
As the actress began to chat about summer travel plans, she stopped abruptly. “Selena Gomez is right there– excuse us!”

The Weinstein Co. has acquired domestic rights to corporate downsizing drama “The Company Men,” the first feature helmed by John Wells.
Deal includes a mid-seven figure P&A commitment as well as a “substantial” theatrical release. CAA set up financing for the film, which TWC plans to release later this year. Deal was announced Wednesday by TWC toppers Harvey and Bob Weinstein.
“The Company Men,” which premiered at Sundance, stars Ben Affleck, Chris Cooper, Kevin Costner, Maria Bello and Tommy Lee Jones. Wells wrote, directed and produced along with Claire Rudnick Polstein and Paula Weinstein.
International rights are being handled by IM Global, which had pre-sold many territories prior to Sundance.
“?’The Company Men’ was a real labor of love for all of us involved,” said Wells, best known for TV skeins “ER” and “The West Wing.” He is also prexy of Writers Guild of America West.
TWC also announced a July 16 bow for French comedy “The Concert,” starring Melanie Laurent; an Oct. 8 opening for John Lennon biopic “Nowhere Boy”; and a Nov. 26 bow for Brit drama “The King’s Speech.”

Whilst browsing some sites this morning, I came across the very first stills for Maria’s upcoming movie, Beautiful Boy! I’m really excited to have found these, because this sounds like a really interesting project and I really want to hear and see more about it. It seems like a role Maria could’ve really sunk her teeth into and (another) one that will really showcase her talent. So, enjoy the stills

Actor Sean Penn and actress Maria Bello met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in Haiti on Sunday.
The 49-year-old actor came to Haiti about a week after the quake and his blue-shirted workers with the newly formed Jenkins-Penn Haiti Relief Organization provide medical care, water filters and food.
“I think this is a very complicated situation here, and there are so many voices and so many vested interests, when it comes to aid, that it is very difficult to brake through the red tape of it,” Sean Penn said.
Behind the tents is a country club that became the base of the US Army 82nd Airborne in the days after the disaster.

Hollywood’s big night – Oscar night – was last night, and Maria made an appearance at the Vanity Fair After Party! She looked lovely in a shimmery little white dress, and was seen pictured with Sean Penn (they should work together, don’t you think?!!), Hilary Swank and Olivia Wilde. It’s great seeing Maria at such a prestigious event!
The first batch of photos from the event have been added to the Gallery, and more will follow in a day or so.

Before I start adding recent pictures, I’ve gone through the latest news and added a bunch of new articles, which you can read below. With that comes some other content additions, including Trivia, Quotes (one by her about Kristen Stewart, and a couple from William Hurt), updates to the Grown Ups & The Yellow Handkerchief filmography pages (quotes and reviews), and 3 new 2010 Press interviews.
The new interviews are definitely worth a read – Maria is so eloquent and I just love reading her interviews!
“I’ve never been a research person. I believe that my job is just to be present where I am and that one moment will lead to another moment, like in life. I’ve tried to work like that.”
“I know! Can you believe I was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for that? I was shocked!”
“It’s a very intense movie. I just shot it a couple months ago with Michael Sheen, here in LA. Three weeks. It made me fall in love with acting again! It’s a beautiful script and such an emotional story about these parents whose son goes through a Columbine-type shooting. It’s about their relationship really, how it falls apart and coming together and what that means.”
“I’ve never been a big film watcher, but since I got into the Academy two years ago, I try to watch every single thing that I get. I think everyone deserves a fair shake.”
– Movieline – February 25th 2010
“When I was growing up, my mother was a nurse and my father was a construction worker. If anyone was in need, they were there. They would just jump in immediately and get their hands dirty. We’re workers in my family. All I did in Haiti was to lend a hand and be a worker and they taught me that.”

Before Kristen Stewart became ubiquitous as Bella Swan, she shot a little movie called “The Yellow Handkerchief,” about three misfits on a road trip who bond over their shared loneliness. After the film was completed, the actress became a superstar. Yet her “Handkerchief” co-stars insist that Stewart is the same girl she’s always been, even with the pandemonium surrounding her.
“Well, Kristen before the whole hoopla of ‘Twilight’ was an amazing actress when she did this part,” co-star Maria Bello told MTV News at the premiere on Thursday night in Los Angeles. “I saw her in ‘Into the Wild’ as well and I couldn’t believe her depth and emotional integrity. And I’m so proud to be in this with her.”
It’s not just Bello who has kind words for the star. Her on-screen love interest in “The Yellow Handkerchief,” Eddie Redmayne, says that both she and his old pal, Robert Pattinson, have handled their fame with class. He says that as they grow more famous, he hopes their work will continue to become more interesting.
