Elisabeth Röhm mothers Taylor Lautner in ‘Abduction’
July 6th, 2010 Filed Under Abduction No Comments / Comment?

“Heroes” actress Elisabeth Röhm has been cast in the Lionsgate action-thriller “Abduction.” Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins, Maria Bello and Sigourney Weaver star.

John Singleton is directing the project, about a young man who goes on the run after discovering that his parents aren’t his own when he sees his baby picture on a missing persons website. Röhm is set to play the Lautner character’s biological mother, a role in which Emily Mortimer had previously been cast.

Shawn Christensen and Jeffrey Nachmanoff wrote the screenplay.

Repped by APA and Luber Roklin Entertainment, Röhm has had roles in “The Kreutzer Sonata” and “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous.” She will next appear in the features “Chlorine” and “Minkow.”

On television, she has also had regular roles on the NBC series “Law & Order” and the WB’s “Angel.”

Taylor Lautner’s ‘Abduction’ Co-Star Maria Bello Says Movie Is ‘Badass’
June 26th, 2010 Filed Under Abduction No Comments / Comment?

Taylor Lautner has thrown himself into boxing and fight training in the last few months. He’s learning to work movie magic on a motorcycle. And he’s likely going to have to jump into a pool and figure out how to swim like an action hero. That’s just what it’s going to take to slip into his starring role in “Abduction,” a flick that’s being compared to the Jason Bourne films.

And it’s a good thing he’s committed himself so fully, because as co-star Mario Bello told MTV News, the movie will be nothing short of hardcore.

“It’s an incredible script. It really is,” she told us at the red-carpet premiere of “Grown Ups.” “John Singleton is directing. I’m so happy to be a part of it. It’s going to be a badass movie.”

The story follows Lautner as a kid who, thanks to a visit to a missing-persons website, discovers that he has actually been abducted and the parents who raised him are not his flesh and blood. Jason Isaacs plays his faux-dad, while Bello is his faux-mom.

Taylor Lautner Is ‘So Excited’ To Start Filming ‘Abduction’ This Week
June 25th, 2010 Filed Under Abduction No Comments / Comment?

While fans know Taylor Lautner best for his hunky werewolf role in “The Twilight Saga,” Jacob Black is taking on a whole new persona for “Abduction,” the upcoming thriller from director John Singleton set to begin filming in a matter of days.

“I start [shooting the movie] in, like, three days,” Lautner told MTV News on the black carpet of the L.A. premiere of “Eclipse” Thursday night (June 24). “I have a day off tomorrow, I go to New York the next day, and then I go to Pittsburgh. I’m so excited!”

In “Abduction,” Lautner stars as a young teenager who discovers a stunning secret: The parents who have raised him his entire life are not his birth parents. When Lautner’s character reaches out to his real parents, he finds himself sucked into a deadly world filled with espionage. In addition to its thrilling story, “Abduction” boasts an impressive cast, including Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello.

“This is a very real action thriller,” Lautner said. “It has a great story and a great cast.”

‘Abduction’ Adds Maria Bello, Jason Isaacs To Cast
June 18th, 2010 Filed Under Abduction, Rumoured Roles No Comments / Comment?

If you’re going to be abducted and raised by a new set of parents, you could certainly do a lot worse than Maria Bello and Jason Isaacs.

The duo have been cast as the not-parents of Taylor Lautner in the John Singleton-directed thriller “Abduction,” according to Deadline New York. The story follows Lautner’s character as he sets out to learn who he really is after he finds his baby picture posted on a missing-persons website.

The newly hired actors join an already-sizable cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Lily Collins, Denzel Whitaker, Michael Nyqvist and, of course, “Twilight” heartthrob Lautner. With these last major roles squared away, production on the film is set to begin on July 12 in Pittsburgh.

Bello is one of the stars in the ensemble comedy “Grown Ups,” out June 25, which features Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek and Maya Rudolph. She’ll also star with “New Moon” vampire Michael Sheen in “Beautiful Boy,” which has an unspecified 2010 release.

Isaacs, who is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the villainous Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” series, will star in the new Fox legal drama “Pleading Guilty” this fall. He and the rest of the “Potter” cast just wrapped production on the two-part series closer, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Those movies hit theaters on November 19, 2010, and July 15, 2011.

Lautner will shoot “Abduction” before joining his fellow “Twilight” cast members in the fall for filming on “Breaking Dawn,” which like “Deathly Hallows,” will be released in two parts. “Eclipse,” the third movie in Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance series, arrives in theaters on June 30.
