"As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more open. You stop judging yourself and you stop judging others. And it
doesn’t matter anymore if anybody likes you."
I have a big Grown Ups press/promotion update for you today! To start with, I’ve added screencaps from all the interview videos I posted the other day, including The Today Show + the infamous Extra in which the women are ‘attacked’ by a snake lol.
Then, I’ve added more posters and stills from the movie, as well as screencaps from the international trailer. I’ve also been browsing the many international sites for Grown Ups, and have added screencaps of the Maria shots on them.
You can find an official list of the international release dates for Grown Ups, plus all the international sites for the film, right here at SonyPictures.net. Some of the sites have some fun Games on them (I remember seeing 3 on the Australian site), and the Waterslide game is particularly good as you can choose to play as one of the characters, including Maria, and they have little cartoon versions of them! Watch ‘Maria/Sally’ wave her hands as she goes down a waterslide! Play this game at the official sites, and find a few screencaps of it in our Gallery.
Finally, I’ve added a couple of new press interviews to our Press page in the last few days.
Maria has been out and about promoting Grown Ups this week! On Monday she appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, as well as at a Sunglasses Boutique Soiree; on Wednesday or Thursday (not sure of the date!) she was on The Today Show, and on Wednesday she attended the premiere of Grown Ups alongside her co-stars. Videos from the tv appearances were posted yesterday (scroll down to see them + the rest of the latest news), and the Gallery has now been updated with photos from the two events, plus HD screencaps from the Craig Ferguson interview (thanks to my awesome friend Brianne). I’ll add screencaps from the others interviews asap.
And as you might know, Grown Ups is now showing in cinemas in the US! It hasn’t been getting great reviews (Google it if you’re interested to read some), but we know Maria is always watchable, so see it for her! If you’d like to share your reviews of the film after you’ve seen it then feel free to leave a comment here, post on the chatbox or send me an email.
More updates coming soon, but for now enjoy these new photos!
It’s the “Snakes on a Plane” sequel — “Snakes on an ‘Extra’ Junket”!
As “Extra’s” Terri Seymour chatted up “Grown Ups” stars Salma Hayek, Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph, they got an expected guest — a harmless but rather large snake — which sent the girls into a tizzy, as they scrambled to get away from the reptile, especially the frantic, screaming Salma.
“It was like a python. It was thick. Its head was like this like a cobra!” Bello exclaimed afterward.
And what about Salma? “She split. She’s on the next plane,” Rudolph said. “She’s in the hospital,” Bello laughed.
Yesterday, the ladies of the newest Sandler flick, Grown Ups, did some dishing on one of the movie’s main themes—getting their kids to play outside in nature as opposed to vegging in front of the TV and video games.
Maya Rudolph (who plays opposite Chris Rock) encourages her kids to take advantage of the good California weather. Salma Hayek (who stars opposite Adam Sandler) takes little Valentina to her country house in France on the weekends. And Maria Bello?
“We go to the Jersey Shore. For real. With Snooki,” Bello laughed, continuing, “Oh I know Snooki. Everbody knows Snooki.”
Bello, who plays Kevin James’ wife in Grown Ups, likes to get back to her Philadelphia roots with summers on the Jersey Shore. In fact, she was just there last weekend.
“My family has a beach house there. And I love to see my son Jackson running around with his 20 cousins barefoot, riding his bike all over the place and eating cheese steaks and going to the boardwalk,” Bello said. “And sorta having this real-life experience—East Coast, Philly life experience that I really enjoyed growing up with, and really shaped who I am.”
We have to admit, it does sound fun. But beware those juiced-up guidos. They’re just itching for a fight.
The newly single actress — she split with musician fiancé Bryn Mooser last year — doesn’t have the air of mystery that many women do.
“I don’t really date,” admits Bello from her home in Venice, Calif. “What I always think when I’m speaking to a man is that they’ve already seen me naked. Or if they haven’t, they can Google me and see me naked.”
Indeed, Bello has appeared in graphic sex scenes in a number of roles, albeit respectable ones, including as a Vegas waitress in The Cooler, and a suffering wife in A History of Violence.
Not that she’s actively looking.
“I’ve never had a traditional relationship,” says the 42-year-old Pennsylvania native. “I’ve never been married. Though I’ve been close, I’ve never quite pulled the plug!”
Add to that — Bello’s plate is pretty full. She’s currently promoting The Yellow Handkerchief, out Friday. It’s a road trip movie about an ex con (William Hurt) trying to get back to his lost love (Bello). Along the way he meets up with two teens — one being Twilight’s Kristen Stewart (the film was shot in 2008 — pre vampire furor).
New promotional materials for Maria’s upcoming comedy Grown Ups have been released! There’s a new International Trailer, a poster, and stills. Grown Ups is set to be released on June 25th.
Grown Ups, starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, is a comedy about five friends and former teammates who reunite years later to honor the passing of their childhood basketball coach. With their wives (Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph) and kids in tow, they spend the Fourth of July holiday weekend together at the lake house where they celebrated their championship years earlier. Picking up where they left off, they discover why growing older doesn’t mean growing up.
