Photos from new events + new media
August 31st, 2010 Filed Under Charity, Gallery Updates, New Event, Site Update No Comments / Comment?

Maria has been out and about this past weekend, attending a couple of events and continuing her support of Haiti and raising awareness about the issues there. On Friday she co-hosted a Judith Leiber event, alongside Patricia Arquette, to benefit Vital Voices, and then on Sunday she showed her support to Patricia Arquette and Rosetta Getty’s GiveLove to Haiti charity. You can read more about the GiveLove Dinner in the post below. Photos from both events have been added to our Gallery!

I’ve also been able to add some more media pages, thanks to a wonderful fan! ‘Coyote‘ has made us some super cute Animations & beautiful Fanart, so don’t miss those new additions.

If you have any fanart you’ve made and would like to see it displayed here on Maria-Bello.org then don’t hesitate to contact me! I’d love to display your work :)

Maria attends GiveLove to Haiti Dinner
August 31st, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates, Haiti 2010 No Comments / Comment?

GiveLove co-founders Patricia Arquette and Rosetta Getty, along with Jacqui Getty, welcomed guests to a private LA residence for the 1st Annual GiveLove to Haiti Dinner on Sunday, August 29th, 2010. The event’s mission was to raise awareness for GiveLove — a collaborative project to rebuild communities, homes and livelihoods for displaced Haitian earthquake survivors.

The exclusive dinner, which drew out “giving” celebs including Maria Bello, Odette Yusman, Rose McGowan and Rachel Bilson, featured Maestro DOBEL Diamond Tequila, which guests enjoyed throughout the nights.

James Van Der Beek and “Brothers and Sisters” co-stars Dave Annable and Balthazar Getty all sported the Choose Haiti H.E.L.P. Bracelet, while they toasted Maestro DOBEL Diamond Tequila.

The H.E.L.P. Bracelet which is created by Haitian artisans is available at BlanketAmerica.com; all funds for the bracelet and for the GiveLove event benefit the Haiti relief efforts.

“Don’t Forget” Haiti pendant promotion
July 15th, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates, Haiti 2010 No Comments / Comment?

The “Don’t Forget” Haiti pendant necklace that Maria helped to design was launched this week, and Maria has been promoting it. On Tuesday she attended the launch for it in New York, alongside Judith Leiber president Mary Gleason, and Gossip Girl actress Kelly Rutherford. Maria looked gorgeous in a little beige dress! She has also posed for some photos to promote the pendant, and done a couple of interviews to promote it and the continuing need for aid for Haiti (see posts below).

Photos from the launch, of Maria modelling the pendant, and some candids of Maria and her son out and about last week have all been added to our Gallery!

If you want to support the cause, and have some spare money, head on over to the Judith Leiber website to purchase a pendant.

Big Grown Ups gallery update
June 27th, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates, Grown Ups 1 Comment / Comment?

I have a big Grown Ups press/promotion update for you today! To start with, I’ve added screencaps from all the interview videos I posted the other day, including The Today Show + the infamous Extra in which the women are ‘attacked’ by a snake lol.

Then, I’ve added more posters and stills from the movie, as well as screencaps from the international trailer. I’ve also been browsing the many international sites for Grown Ups, and have added screencaps of the Maria shots on them.

You can find an official list of the international release dates for Grown Ups, plus all the international sites for the film, right here at SonyPictures.net. Some of the sites have some fun Games on them (I remember seeing 3 on the Australian site), and the Waterslide game is particularly good as you can choose to play as one of the characters, including Maria, and they have little cartoon versions of them! Watch ‘Maria/Sally’ wave her hands as she goes down a waterslide! Play this game at the official sites, and find a few screencaps of it in our Gallery.

Finally, I’ve added a couple of new press interviews to our Press page in the last few days.

Extra – June ??th 2010 x39
Grown Ups Press Junket x96
The Today Show – June 23rd 2010 x187

Grown Ups: Trailer #2 (International) Screencaptures x12

Grown Ups: Stills x2 more

June 26th, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates No Comments / Comment?

These include two sets of scans from issues of American Cinematographer from last year, which include some nice articles on Downloading Nancy and Pippa Lee – thanks to Mirik for these. I’ve also found and added a new portrait/photoshoot session, taken last March at a small film festival, and finally, I’ve added some small but really nice photos from Maria’s 2004 appearance on Last Call With Carson Daly.

Gallery Updates – Craig Ferguson, Grown Ups + Sunglass Boutique Soiree
June 26th, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates, Grown Ups, New Event No Comments / Comment?

Maria has been out and about promoting Grown Ups this week! On Monday she appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, as well as at a Sunglasses Boutique Soiree; on Wednesday or Thursday (not sure of the date!) she was on The Today Show, and on Wednesday she attended the premiere of Grown Ups alongside her co-stars. Videos from the tv appearances were posted yesterday (scroll down to see them + the rest of the latest news), and the Gallery has now been updated with photos from the two events, plus HD screencaps from the Craig Ferguson interview (thanks to my awesome friend Brianne). I’ll add screencaps from the others interviews asap.

And as you might know, Grown Ups is now showing in cinemas in the US! It hasn’t been getting great reviews (Google it if you’re interested to read some), but we know Maria is always watchable, so see it for her! If you’d like to share your reviews of the film after you’ve seen it then feel free to leave a comment here, post on the chatbox or send me an email.

More updates coming soon, but for now enjoy these new photos!

Elle.com Pippa Lee article
June 1st, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee No Comments / Comment?

I just came across this gorgeous Pippa Lee cast photoshoot from Elle and had to post it right away, alongside it’s accompanying short article/review. The photo is small but it’s a rare treat to see this photoshoot shot of Maria with Rebecca Miller, Robin Wright and Blake Lively!

EDIT: I’ve found a scan of the magazine! Click the thumbnail below to view it.

Movie Release: The Private Lives of Pippa Lee
Rebecca Miller and a trio of whip-smart bombshells have redefined the chick flick

November 11, 2009

Touching, tartly comic, and deliciously self-assured, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee is a triumph for writer and director Rebecca Miller as well as for her dazzling cast, led by Robin Wright Penn. The story of an obedient trophy wife on the verge of the kind of messy breakdown that can be a lifechanging liberation, the movie suggests that an outlaw streak lurks in even the most repressive feminine psyche. Based on Miller’s own very good novel, this is a classic in the making: A deeply felt yet witty update of the films Hollywood used to create for its female stars but has all but forgotten how, it’s full of breakthrough performances, including a sexy, wounded Keanu Reeves; Blake Lively as a bohemian Pippa, in vivid flashbacks, running both shy and wild in her youth; and Maria Bello as her fabulously unhinged, Dexedrineaddicted suburban mom.

“I had to fight for this,” Lively says. “I read the script, and I was head over heels. Being female in this business, you’re lucky to have a role where you’re not dancing around in a bikini, throwing a bottle of water on yourself.” As for Wright Penn, “Instead of doing exposition, I got to be quiet and just let it emerge,” she says, “the unveiling of Pippa’s true self.” Rewarding Miller for giving her the role she has long deserved, Wright Penn makes her character the movie’s luminous center. “Filmmaking is so much about technology, about shots, about lighting,” Miller says, “everything but the moment of truth for an actor, which really is the only thing we have. That’s our currency, our goal, the nugget that we sometimes forget about.”

Maria attends the Joyful Heart Foundation Gala
May 9th, 2010 Filed Under Charity, Gallery Updates, New Event No Comments / Comment?

New photos have been added to the Gallery! Maria attended the Joyful Heart Foundation Gala to recognise the 15th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act a few days ago, and the day before that she attended an event to celebrate and support “The Man Up” campaign. She was photographed with ‘BFF’ Mariska Hargitay, as well as Debra Messing, Marcia Gay Harden and Hilary Swank at the Joyful Heart Gala, and I love Maria’s outfit here – very chic and cool!

Photos are in the Gallery, and visit the links below to find out more about the charities/campaigns behind these two new events.

More HQ appearance photos
April 4th, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates 1 Comment / Comment?

I’ve added another lot of recent-ish HQ appearances today. Well, a lot of them are HQ replacements for pictures we previously only had in smaller sizes. These include 30 HQs from Maria’s most recent appearance, the Kids Choice Awards a few weeks ago, and more HQs from the HBO Emmy Party held last year. The HBO Emmy Party dress has got to be one of my all-time favourite looks from Maria!

Large gallery update of recent appearances
April 3rd, 2010 Filed Under Gallery Updates, Haiti 2010, Yellow Handkerchief No Comments / Comment?

I’ve added over 200 photos from various recent(-ish) appearances today! This includes photos from the The Yellow Handkerchief premiere held in February that I never found time to add pics from until now. There are also 3 new-old event additions – a Boston Common party held last summer, two Joyful Heart events, and a Haiti relief brunch held earlier this year. On top of that, there are various additions to a few other event albums from the past few months – click Last Uploads to see everything added.

Also, you may (or may not!) be wondering why the appearance categories from earlier years are still empty – I had a ton of stuff on my external hard-drive saved and ready to be sorted and added, but very unfortunately I had a problem with that external HD. It went in to be fixed last summer and has not come back yet! I’m still waiting with much hope that it will come back safe very soon. Once I get some definite news on it I will start working as quickly as possible to build those appearance sections up. I’ll also be adding a trillion magazine scans once my scanner is fixed too (I’m not having too much luck with equipment at the moment!). Cross your fingers for me ;)
