(I’m one day late on this – sorry!! I had some computer problems yesterday).
Maria celebrated her 43rd birthday yesterday, and on behalf of her fans here at Maria-Bello.org I’d like to wish her a very Happy (belated) Birthday! I hope she spent a perfect day with her loved ones, and that the year ahead brings her all the happiness she wishes for. Maria, thank you for being such an inspiration to us, in terms of the work you do for others, and for remaining honest and true to yourself. You’re a genuine inspiration, and it’s as simple as that!
Fans, feel free to leave your birthday wishes for Maria as a comment to this post, or on the Chatbox on the sidebar.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIA!!

Before I start adding recent pictures, I’ve gone through the latest news and added a bunch of new articles, which you can read below. With that comes some other content additions, including Trivia, Quotes (one by her about Kristen Stewart, and a couple from William Hurt), updates to the Grown Ups & The Yellow Handkerchief filmography pages (quotes and reviews), and 3 new 2010 Press interviews.
The new interviews are definitely worth a read – Maria is so eloquent and I just love reading her interviews!
“I’ve never been a research person. I believe that my job is just to be present where I am and that one moment will lead to another moment, like in life. I’ve tried to work like that.”
“I know! Can you believe I was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for that? I was shocked!”
“It’s a very intense movie. I just shot it a couple months ago with Michael Sheen, here in LA. Three weeks. It made me fall in love with acting again! It’s a beautiful script and such an emotional story about these parents whose son goes through a Columbine-type shooting. It’s about their relationship really, how it falls apart and coming together and what that means.”
“I’ve never been a big film watcher, but since I got into the Academy two years ago, I try to watch every single thing that I get. I think everyone deserves a fair shake.”
– Movieline – February 25th 2010
“When I was growing up, my mother was a nurse and my father was a construction worker. If anyone was in need, they were there. They would just jump in immediately and get their hands dirty. We’re workers in my family. All I did in Haiti was to lend a hand and be a worker and they taught me that.”

I’m very excited to present to you our new layout here at Maria-Bello.org! I adore this photoshoot of Maria, and I think Frederik did a perfect job in creating something fitting for the photos, and for Maria and this site.
With this new layout comes the (re-)launch of our content – as I’ve mentioned before, these past few months I’ve been working on the content pages – updating what we did have and adding lots more – because I never really got them completed since the site opened in April 2008. Practically every page has been updated. Lots of information has been added to our Maria section, including a ‘hand-written’ (by me) original Biography, Awards & Nominations, Name Analysis, trivia and more. I’ve started working on the Filmography pages, but currently the only ones complete are the smaller TV projects and Other projects pages – the rest of the pages will be written gradually. One of the pages I’m most pleased with is the Press section – I’ve added as many interviews as I can find in there, and it provides for some fantastic reading for us Maria fans! There are new icons in the Media section, and more games and features in the Extras section, including many new photos of Maria with other celebrities. Further details about Maria-Bello.org have been added to the Web/Site section, the Affiliates page has been changed to a new format and updated, and we have new Link M-B.org buttons.
As mentioned, the Filmography pages are still under construction, as is the Charities page. I will also be working on a Video Archive for the site, but before I start on that I’d like to know what format you’d like that to be in – streaming (where you click play and watch the videos online) or downloadable (where you save the video to your computer and can watch it when you’re offline) – vote in the poll here.
I hope you enjoy the new layout and content. I’ve put a lot of work into it with the aim of producing a fitting tribute to the wonderful Maria Bello! Don’t hesitate to leave a comment here!

Sorry for the short down-time last week – I forgot to renew the domain *oops*
Look out for big updates here soon – ER caps, movie caps, appearance HQs and more! Be sure to let me know if there’s anything you’d particularly like to see here though … I’m excited to get working on this site

Maria-Bello.org is finally opening it’s doors to the public! After a long time of work, we present to you Maria-Bello.org, the first fansite for the talented actress Maria Bello. Maria is best known for her roles in A History Of Violence, The Cooler and her season-long stint on ER, and will next be seen in the summer release The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and a string of quirky independent features. We’re here to support Maria’s career, and provide you, her fans, with an online resource for everything you may want on her.
The Gallery is open but a long, long, way off being complete, and the ‘Maria’ information section will be added soon.
Any and all comments, suggestions and contributions are always more than welcomed so please contact us if you have anything to say. Enjoy your visit, add us to your Favourites and come back again soon!
