The Golden Globe- and SAG-nominated actress (A History of Violence, The Cooler) will appear in two episodes, playing a woman with a secret past that Detective Benson is investigating, according to a source close to the production.

It’s also a reunion of sorts for Bello and SVU executive producer Neal Baer, who worked together on ER. Her episodes have not been scheduled.

Bello is co-hosting a benefit for the Haitian chapter of Vital Voices On Tuesday, July 13 from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. at 680 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. The ‘Don’t Forget’ pendant designed by Judith Lieber will be on sale for $95. All proceeds from the sale of the limited edition design will benefit Vital Voices which empowers Haitian women.

Bello is best known for her roles on “ER” and “Coyote Ugly” and now she is working on The Mummy 4: Rise of the Aztec.

The former Fugees star and the Coyote Ugly actress have been part of the relief efforts since the devastating tremor hit the nation on 12 January (10).

But despite being impressed with the amount of money that has been raised to overcome the earthquake, both stars claim victims of the tragedy are still suffering because they aren’t getting enough aid.

On Monday (12Jul10) – the six-month anniversary of the quake – Jean and Bello appeared on U.S. talk show Larry King Live to appeal for more action.

Jean tells stand-in host Soledad O’Brien, “I think you know, the main obstacle is basically, there is not enough to go around, which means you can give tons of food every day. You can give water every day. The problem is so big that you have to just basically shrink it down. The way that you shrink it down for these kids, it would be the focus of education, one, and… some form of job creation, too.”

Bello adds, “Today is a really emotional day for all of our Haitian friends, that what the needs were six months ago, the day after the earthquake, the week after when I was there are the same now. People still need water, food and shelter and rubble removal. And it’s shocking to me… You really see that the people are getting really frustrated. Everyone is asking where is this aid? Where is all this money that has been promised?

“So many people survived. And for us right now, it’s all about reconstructing, bringing this normalcy (sic) back to the kids… It’s such an incredible country, such resilient people, that we know, moving forward, it’s going to be extraordinary. We can’t forget. It’s all about not forgetting. We can’t forget Haiti.”

John Singleton is directing the project, about a young man who goes on the run after discovering that his parents aren’t his own when he sees his baby picture on a missing persons website. Röhm is set to play the Lautner character’s biological mother, a role in which Emily Mortimer had previously been cast.

Shawn Christensen and Jeffrey Nachmanoff wrote the screenplay.

Repped by APA and Luber Roklin Entertainment, Röhm has had roles in “The Kreutzer Sonata” and “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous.” She will next appear in the features “Chlorine” and “Minkow.”

On television, she has also had regular roles on the NBC series “Law & Order” and the WB’s “Angel.”

And it’s a good thing he’s committed himself so fully, because as co-star Mario Bello told MTV News, the movie will be nothing short of hardcore.

“It’s an incredible script. It really is,” she told us at the red-carpet premiere of “Grown Ups.” “John Singleton is directing. I’m so happy to be a part of it. It’s going to be a badass movie.”

The story follows Lautner as a kid who, thanks to a visit to a missing-persons website, discovers that he has actually been abducted and the parents who raised him are not his flesh and blood. Jason Isaacs plays his faux-dad, while Bello is his faux-mom.

“Do I look like Taylor’s mom?” she asked.

Judging by the look she was rocking the red carpet — a form-fitting blue dress and short, sun-kissed blonde locks — Bello should have no problem convincing audiences that she could have birthed a good-looking kid like Lautner.

“He is such a gorgeous guy,” she said.

But, of course, in the film it turns out that she’s not his real mother. And when Lautner makes that discovery, he’s thrust into a run-and-gun-style thriller. Lautner himself has clearly been training hard for the requirements of “Abduction,” but what about Bello? Might we see her kick a little ass on the big screen?

“You never know?” she said. “You’ll have to see the movie!”
